The first class discipline of Marxist theory have four distinctive discipline directions:ideological and political education, research on Marxi** Chinese-Characterization,marxist basic principles,network ideological security.Ideological and political education in second class disciplines began to enroll postgraduate students in 2007, was funded by Zhejiang Province Key Construction Discipline in 2016. In 20116, it was approved to establish the Research Center ofHangzhou Dianzi University for the Theoretical System of Sociali** with Chinese Characteristics in Zhejiang Province.In 2017, it obtained the right to grant a master's degree in first class discipline of Marxist theory . In the past five years, the comprehensive ranking of this discipline has increased year by year, maintaining a 5%-10% annual rate of advancement.

The discipline has a reasonable echelon of disciplines with high academic level and research capabilities, including 7 professors, 15 associate professors, 12 master tutors, and 33 doctors.One person was selected for the "National Excellent College Young and Middle-aged Ideological and Political Theory Teachers' Choice Funding Program", two were at the "151" level in Zhejiang Province, and three were "Zhijiang Youth Social Science Scholars" in Zhejiang Province.

In the past five years, this discipline has undertaken more than 70 projects at the provincial and ministerial level and above, and won more than 20 provincial and higher awards such as the Excellent Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences in Chinese Universities and the National Outstanding Achievement Award in Educational Science. More than 400 papers have been published in journals such as"Philosophy Research" "Marxi** Research", and many articles have been reprinted in full in "Xinhua Digest" and "Photocopy of Renmin University of China".

In the past five years, the discipline has focused on the school-local collaborative graduate talent training mode, and the ideological and political "**all classroom" and social "big classroom" integrated education mode. The teaching achievements were reported by mainstream media such as "RENMIN RIBAO", "China Education News", Xinhuanet, and has formed a good social reputation.
